There is a “one child policy”  in place & 20% more boys are born. Mandarin is the official language.China boasts over 160 cities with a population of over 1 million in each city.  Education is compulsory for 9 years. China is the  third most visited country in the World & the Great Wall of China would be the highlight of a visit to this country.  Rice & pork are the most common foods. There are many Festivals in China, the most popular being Spring Festival, Mid-autumn Day, Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Valentine’s Day, & Tomb-Sweeping Day .

Headquarters of most industries, hub of highways & railways, known for opulent temples, palaces, parks, gardens, tombs, walls , gates, art treasures, & universities. The cultural & art centre, hot humid summers & cold, windy, dry winters, high level of air pollution, dust storms common. 163 countries have embassies here, finance one of most important industries, over 2.5 m cars registered, known for its “start-up companies”, also known for its pirated goods,– Beijing or Peking Opera ,unique cuisine, Chinese Medicine & teahouses are common. The Forbidden City, The Great Hall, National Museum, Temple of Heaven & many more attractions bring tourists. 10 railway lines & subways radiate from centre, 1000 buses in bus -only lanes tickets with Yikatong (metro card). Primary airport is Capital International, (ATA PEK) about 20 km NE of city centre, many bicycle-only lanes.

Shanghai

24m people, world’s busiest container port, located on mouth of Yangtze River, on East China coast, popular tourist centre, many historical landmarks, mostly flat geography, many rivers, lakes, canals & streams. Humid subtropical summers & chilly, damp winters. Commercial & financial centre, Transport– metros ( subways & light rail), buses ( 1000 lines) & taxis can all be paid for by the Public Transport Card, & the world’s oldest trolley bus system. Two main airports, — Pudong for international & Hongqiao for domestic flights, reasonably low pollution compared to other Chinese cities, Wu Chinese spoken mostly, Cinema the Arts prominent, soccer & basketball popular.

Placement Procedure

1. Complete an application form
2. You will then be interviewed via Skype by our partners in China to give you an opportunity to further explain your requirements
3. Next you will need to complete the initial deposit payment of $300USD (This will be deducted from the total program fee)
4. You will be given the option to select the most suitable placement from a choice of three. If you are not satisfied with any of the options then further options will be provided.
5. Once the internship is arranged then our partners can begin arranging suitable accommodation close to the internship
6. Full program payment is due
7. Visa letter issued
8. Arrive and commence program

Arrival Information

Our partners will provide a pre-departure briefing and orientation. Pre-departure briefings are to help you know what to expect and what to pack. On arrival, our partners will pick you up from the airport and take you to the accommodation to settle in.
Our partners are usually available that evening to answer questions if required.
The next day, you will be given an orientation, including a city map and transportation cards.
Over the first weekend you will have a welcome banquet, some shopping trips and a few other activities.
You will then be taken to your host company and introduced to the managers or supervisors.

Support

It is unlikely that you will be unsatisfied with your placements as you are involved in the company selection process with clear company profiles provided.
If you are unhappy with your placement then you may be replaced.
Coordinators are allocated to each participant. They are available to offer assistance at all times.

Visa

Our partners have a specialised department that deals with Visas and will guide you through the process of gaining the Business Visa (F Visa). They ensure they are up to date with all the latest changes. All documents are provided for the Visa application.

Visa duration is your choice; from 1 month to 12 months.
Processing takes an average of 2 weeks.
Visa extensions can also be arranged if required.
